Draft Zone Spotlight: Armonty Bryant, DE, East Central University

Some players will have to answer character questions this year, and one of those players who will be asked questions will be Armonty Bryant.  The very talented Defensive End from East Central University will have to answer many questions about his 2012 arrest for supposedly selling $20 dollars worth of Marijuana to an undercover Cop, during practice.  Armonty has since tried to shed that bad name and has been a work horse. There was nobody at the Texas versus the Nation game that could block him, which has now opened the door for him to attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indy.  I expect the athletic Bryant to have a very good combine, and if he answers the questions correctly his stock could get up to the high 3^rd round area.  Keep an eye on this kid; he is a beast on the football field. He has great moves and is extremely talented.

At your position, how do you break down film, please inform our readers what you look for when breaking down film?

I like to look at OT how does he play, does he take plays off what’s his weakness, I like to look at his hands how is his hands high or low, I look at the O-line if they slide protect or just big on big, I look at the center to see if he gives away the snap count, and I look for any run or pass keys from the O-line.

I like to play basketball and video games

AFCA All-American

If it was your last meal, what would you eat?

16 oz sirloin, lobster tail, cajun pasta, steamed vegetables and fully loaded baked potato

Pray and thank god for continually blessing me

If you could pick out your biggest weakness what would it be?

Strength

Have you talked to any NFL scouts throughout this process, and what feedback are you getting?

Yes I have, I’m getting a lot of positive feedback from all scouts

If you could compare your play to someone in the NFL, who would it be?

Keep hearing people tell me I play like DeMarcus Ware but I like to think I have my own style of play.

What is the most tragic event in your life that has happened and how did you bounce back?

When I got arrested in October for a drug charge, my family and friends were really there for me to keep up and help me throughout the process

Everyone asks this question but I’m curious to know what will you buy first with your first NFL paycheck?

I will pay for my Mother’s knee surgery so she can come watch me play

If you could meet one person, dead or alive who would it be and why?

Bernie Mac, he is my favorite comedian
